Australian Citizenship / Registration of Births
Australian citizens may register the birth of their child at any Australian Consulate or Embassy. Application forms may be obtained from Geneva, however, any requests for registration of births of children born in Switzerland will be processed by the Australian Embassy in Berlin, Germany.
Please note that:
- once the child has been registered as an Australian citizen, he/she must travel in and out of Australia on an Australian passport.
- the Australian passport will be issued in Geneva.
- documents referring to Births, Marriages, Divorces, Deaths, etc., which are not in English, must be officially translated, or, the international version of the form which is used by the Swiss authorities is also accepted.
